Top 5 Favorite TV shows - 2021 Season

5. Greys Anatomy - (ABC) Trust me I know, this show is going on Season 18 and even me, a true die hard fan, knows this is a tad ridiculous. In my very honest opinion as much as I love this show, the storylines don’t work, the writing is seriously lacking, and the characters don’t offer any depth. It’s almost as if it’s turned into the poster child of progressiveness and lost it’s original sassiness and focus as a lol medical drama. Alas I cannot give up on this show as I joke with my friend C it’s my longest lasting relationship and I will be there till the end, which honestly at this rate I could go first.

4. Only Murders In The Building - (HULU) Could Steve Martin or Martin Short star in anything that isn’t playful and entertaining. I love their chemistry and their ability to As a true crime aficionado/ Murderino this show totally spoke to me. Crime, podcasts, young people hanging with an older generation, all takes place in one building, I feel like I live this life already! I will be honest Selena Gomez does leave a little (sometimes a lot) to be desired with her acting she almost seems tired and very non-expressive but Martin and Short truly make this show with some great cameos mixed in - Sting ! Definitely recommended to anyone looking for some light laughs and witty humor ! Find it on Hulu only.

3. What We Do In The Shadows - (FX) Going on Season 3 this show is everything. I love the characters, the storyline, the costumes, the sets. It is amusing with whimsical elements that almost make you wish Vampires were real because they are ridiculously self centered and for having lived for so long kinda dumb ! Also I have personally related to Guillermo on so many levels with his role as a Familiar when I was working my old job.

2. The Morning Show - (Apple TV) The season finale of Season 1 made me cry with such anger and honestly brought out so much frustration I was feeling at the time, if you haven’t seen it go watch it now ! I personally believe this may be both Jennifer Anniston’s and Reese Witherspoon’s best roles. They compliment each other so well and the fact that this is based off of true events and they are still able to embody unique characteristics truly is testimant to how great this show is.

1. Succession - (HBO) My husband totally turned me onto this show. He of course completely series cheats on me and watches every episode without me but it’s cool cause I get to watch stuff at my leisure during the day while he is at work and I am nursing the babe. This show, with its hysterical family antics, sibling rivalries, intense father figure head, and the insane amounts of money involved has of course made this show my number one watch this season ! The writing is excellent, the storylines are captivating and the characters are both absurdly ridiculous while in their element of existing as billionaires but totally relatable with lots of family drama at the same time. I totally love it, although Logan Roy does give me some serious PTSD between my old boss and ex step father but the train reck that is the Roy family has totally got my attention this year! I highly encourage you to watch it, and if you don’t have HBO its worst the subscription!

BONUS SHOW! - Derry Girls (Netflix)

My mom turned me on to this show a couple of months ago and we have both rewatched all of the episodes more times than we would care to admit. We found the show at a very sad and transitional period in our lives and it completely helped us at a time when it was hard to see the light. We love each of the girls and the one English lad and the way they portray life for young people during a period of extreme turmoil in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. It is so charming and through all of their juvenile antics it makes you wish you were a teen girl again. We love this show and eagerly waiting for season 3!
